FIRST Robotics Competition

The FIRST Robotics Competition, otherwise known as FRC, is a competition where high school students (from ninth through twelfth grade) compete on the biggest field that FIRST can provide. Students are faced with the challenge of creating an industrial-sized robot with limited resources and a six-week time frame, that can fulfill specific objectives that the game calls for while also attempting to obtain the most amount of points. Experienced mentors collaborate with high school students to teach valuable skill sets and concepts within engineering in order for teams to be successful. This competition allows students to enrich their engineering experiences and further their understanding of what gracious professionalism and ingenuity can accomplish.

FRC had its first FRC season in 1992 with the game Maize Craze.
